‘UDGAAR’ – An Expression of Goodness and Joy is an annual mega youth festival which spearheads our national campaign “ Building India Upon Values”
The Vedic (or all religious) scriptures as well as our experiences in educating and training youth repeatedly informs and confirms that every individual self, especially the youth, by their inherent nature, is goodness and peace loving and, therefore, intends to contribute something very positive, auspicious, constructive, peace giving, prosperous and joyful to themselves, their neighbors, their nation and the entire world.
But youth, being highly influenced and overpowered by the association of prevailed negative, inauspicious, destructive, disturbing and thereby discouraging forces through the medium of highly effective and latest modes and methods of communication are landing up being utterly misdirected, confused and hopeless in their pursuit of experiencing, expressing and sharing inherent goodness of their heart.
So, here comes the ISKCON Youth Festival, UDGAAR, An expression of goodness and joy concepts of such youth festival is a brain child of His Divine Grace A.C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupad (Founder Acharya of ISKCON) . UDGAAR youth festival was started based on this concept by HG Sundar Gopal Das who is regional secretary in ISKCON India and the director of ISKCON Youth Forum Delhi.
UDGAAR provides a unique opportunity – a platform to every individual youth to come together to openly, boldly and courageously develop and express the inherent constructive feelings of their heart and thereby experience the natural joy of the self. All such constructive, joyful and youthful energy combined together becomes a powerful resource for the government of the states which are presently struggling with the needed quality human resource to implement their visions and plans to upgrade the condition of the humanity on the planet, earth.
In the Vedic Culture, Festivals have played a very important role in attracting people to Krishna Consciousness. Even, Srila Prabhupada introduced many festivals in ISKCON to inspire everyone to this blissful program. Although a tool of inspiration, this spiritually oriented festive culture has been diminishing in our present day society. At ISKCON New Delhi we have been trying to revive the festive enthusiasm by organizing UDGAAR (meaning Expression) festivals at many places in India.
UDGAAR youth festival is known as a celebration of India’s wealth of intellectual and cultural greatness. It fulfill the needs of the contemporary youth of India to come together and immerse themselves in a fun and entertaining “edutainment” program by giving them a fun filled package of Krishna Consciousness. In the form of movies & rock show, parties, UV dance, Word of Wisdom by ISKCON prominent spiritual leaders, keynote presentations, quiz etc. UDGAAR addresses these proclivities by giving spiritual philosophy embedded with Krishna Conscious fun. That’s how we developed the concept of UDGAAR festival which we are now conducting every month in Delhi and other parts of the country. Please come and Join with us in this festival.
